Department of the Treasury Seized and Forfeited General Property Contract
Team Awarded $113 Million, 8-Year
Chicago, Illinois, – Rick Levin & Associates, Inc., a Chicago
based auction company, is part of a nation-wide team of companies that has
recently been awarded a contract to support the U.S Department of the Treasury
seized and forfeited general property program. The contract will also support
other U.S. law enforcement agencies participating in the Treasury Forfeiture Fund,
including the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection,
Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Secret Service, and the Internal Revenue
Service. In addition, this contract will provide services supporting certain
properties under the jurisdiction of the Department of Justice, Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, U.S. Coast Guard, Office of Foreign Assets
Control, Food and Drug Administration, and other Federal agencies.
In winning the award, a team of experts was assembled to support
all phases of the contract including consolidating general personal property
into Regional Property Management Centers, optimizing vehicle sales at
facilities nationwide, providing field representatives nationwide to support
local seizures, and utilizing the services of nationally recognized sales and
marketing organizations to increase the sales of general property and vehicles
while providing the Federal Government with the visibility, accountability, and
controls required for this important national program. The team is led by the
prime contractor, VSE Corporation, of Alexandria, VA., a well known service
provider to the Department of Defense and other Federal Government Agencies.
The single award, cost-plus-incentive-fee contract includes a base
period of performance, four option periods, and award term provisions. If all
option and award term periods are exercised, contract performance is expected
to continue through September 30, 2014. Potential revenue under the base and option periods is
estimated to be about $113 million, depending on service requirements.
